Vitamins are very important for life, growth and health of living beings.

VitaminsThis is a group of compounds other than fats, carbohydrates and proteins. Some vitamins are formed mostly in plants through the actions of sunlight. Some of them are found in green leafy vegetables, oils, butter, ghee and many other variety of sweet products where we get this type of vitamin. Vitamins which are very important for life, growth and health of living beings.

If we talk about the classification of vitamins, the cant stop our pen to write vitamins are classified into;

  • Fat Soluble Vitamins A, D, E AND K
  • Water Soluble Vitamins B Compex with C

FAT SOLUBLE vitamins

  • Vitamin A: Vitamin A is insoluble in water but soluble in oils & fats , this vitamins is also known as Retinol. This vitamin A promotes our growth and vision along with increase of immunity and keep our body to protect us from diseases. Dear well readers this vitamin is present carrot, butter, ghee, milk, tomato, fish, eggs ,cabbage etc. Deficiency of this vitamin causes xeropthamia, night blindness and xerosis.
  • Vitamin D: This vitamin is fat soluble and is also known by other name called eagocalciferol. But this vitamin is insoluble in water. This vitamin formed due to sunlight beneath the skin. This vitamin deficiency causes rickets in children and osteomalacia in adults.
  • Vitamin E: This vitamin is insoluble in water and is also known by other name called calciferol.This vitamin contains in α , β and γ tocopherols and refered as antisterilty.
  • Vitamin K: This vitamin is insoluble in water and is known by other name called phylloquinone. This vitamin is mixture of two vitamins viz K & K2. This vitamin is present in alba alba. Deficiency of this causes haemorrage means loss of blood. It plays an important role during womens menstrual cycle, when there is excess loss of blood.

Water Soluble vitamins

  • Vitamin B: These vitamins are water soluble and this vitamin includes B-Complex (B1, B2, B5, B6, B12). This vitamin also known by other name called thiamine. It is present in pulses, rice, nuts, wheat, green daily vegetables etc. If we talk here to write this vitamin deficiency causes Beri Beri.
  • Vitamin B2: It is present in vegetables, liver, kidney etc, It is sensitive to light and is essential for growth.It deficiency retards growth, inflammation of tongue, cracking of lips and corners of mouth.
  • Vitamin B5: It is mixture of three closely reltated substances like phyridoxine, pyridoxal and pyridoxamine. It is present in wheat, fish, milk, egg yolk, maiz etc, Deficiency of this vitamin causes anaemia and effects central nervous system.
  • Vitamin 12: It is present in milk, egg, all animal tissues. It is a cobalt complex vitamin and is known as cynoe obalamine. Deficiency of this vitamin causes anaemia.
  • Vitamin C: It is known by other name also known as ascorbic acid. It is water soluble water. Cooking process destroys it.. It is unstable above 25 Degree Celcius.
